Hair Recovery Regimen

Severe Regimen:  If you have severe hair loss, start by shampooing daily with the Hair Recovery Shampoo.  Then you have the option of applying the patch, or using the concentrate.  If you use the patch, apply 2 or 3 for eight hours every day for eight weeks.  This can be applied safely at night.

If you choose the concentrate, apply one ampule daily for at least six weeks.  Massage the formula into your scalp and leave for 8 hours.  No rinsing required.  After you have completed this regiment, move on to the Mild Regimen.

Mild Regimen:  For mild hair loss, simply use the shampoo daily.  You then have the option of using the concentrate or the patch.  If you choose the patch, apply 2 or 3 patches every other day.  They can be worn together and need to be left on for eight hours.

If you choose the concentrate, apply one ampule every other day and leave the formula in.

Overnight and Daycamp Essentials

School is out, (finally!) which means before you know it, it’s time for summer camp.  Whether the kids are heading to overnight camp for eight weeks, or they’re just going to day camp, you can stock up on all your camp essentials here at Discount Beauty Center.  We’ve put together a list of essential items for both the day camper and overnight camper.

For Day Camp

1.  Sun Block

We know we’ve said it before, but sunscreen is one of the number one skin care items that you should never go without!  Especially during camp season, when the sun is especially strong and your kids are spending most of their time outdoors.  We recommend No-Ad Kids Ultra Sun Block Lotion. This SPF 50 formula (approved by the Skin Cancer Foundation)  protects against both UVA and UVB rays and is specially designed for kids’ sensitive skin.  We like it specifically because it’s very water resistant (compared to many other brands) - it retains effectiveness for up to 80 minutes in water.

2.  Bug Spray

The warmer weather brings more than kids outside - it brings flies, mosquitoes, and beetles…yuck!  Make sure your kids are protected by using an effective bug spray.  We likeBurt’s Bees Herbal Insect Repellent because it’s DEET free, which means it’s non-toxic and safe enough for children.  This 100% natural formula is made with specialized oils that bugs and insects can’t stand and will effectively keep them away.

“Did You Just Get Your Hair Done?”

There’s something so unique and luxurious about your hair when you leave the hair salon.  Your hair feels extra soft, extra smooth, and smells amazing!   While drugstore shampoos and conditioners tend to work just fine in most cases, there is a reason why salons don’t typically use them!

DBC carefully selects only the best quality salon shampoos and conditioners for our customers.  Whenever a stylist pressures you to buy their salon brand shampoo, check the ingredients.  Salon products should contain gentle surfactants (ammonium laurel sulfate, sodium laurel sulfate, etc) that are the ingredients that make the shampoo lather.   They recommend products with sodium laureth sulfate, which is the most gentle of all the surfactants.

We recommend hair products from professional brands such as Artec, by Loreal Professional, Enjoy, and Mastey.
